last week of classes...
Wow. I am now officially done with classes. I know, crazy. I don't feel like I've been here long enough for classes to be done already. Starting off from the last entry, last Thursday we decided to go to the club. Tristam made this amazingly good Chico vodka (just mix with lemonade-- in Australia, "lemonade" is like Sprite), which he, Meaghan, Phil, and I drank while partying it up in his room lol. Meaghan and I went to the club (pajama party themed!) after that with Darlene, Shiri, and Eric. It was a pretty good time.

Friday we decided to take it easy. We had a movie night in Tristam's room. Tristam, Meaghan, Carolyn, and I watched The Omen (Jess was away for a field trip for the weekend) which was rather scary. Meaghan skipped out after a while because her boy, Matt (a.k.a. Jeno) was up for the weekend. Scott joined in and so did Ari after that and we all watched Space Jam and then Chopper (although only Tristam, Ari, and I made it through that movie). Tristam, Ari and I ended up standing outside the room talking for a while before we all finally headed to bed. The next day, I believe we just kind of hung out and did a little homework and then that night we went out. We pregamed in Tristam, Jess, and Jamilla's room with Redskin vodka (Jamilla was even there that weekend and drank a little with us!). We (Tristam, Meaghan, Matt, Carolyn, Eric, and I) all then went out and picked up Ari and his group of Western Courters on our way. It was Ari's birthday (19), so we were celebrating that. We went to the Brewery, and then hopped back and forth between the Exchange and the Consortium. It was a pretty good night. We stopped at Macker's before we headed back, then caught the bus back to uni.

haha Jess left us the keys to her room, so we decorated it with post-its for her :)

this was pregaming before we got changed or ready to go out

Sunday was a homework day, as was Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, as my Moorrinya field write-up was due for Vert Fauna and then my Children's Lit paper was due, as well as my Functional Bio lab workbook lol. Meaghan and I got up early almost every day to go running (I know, impressive, right?). Thursday was spent doing the lab workbook all day, then going to lab, then finishing it up. Phew, by the time I was done, I was soo done with work. We spent a little while braiding all of Tristam's hair (which didn't end up looking quite like what he had thought, so he took it all out except for a few lol) and then just hung out for a while. We were considering going out to the club (the last real club night for the semester), but we just weren't in the mood.

haha Tristam's hair before he took it out

Friday was the last day of classes. I went to my last Functional Bio lecture in the morning and then spent a little time making sure my Lit paper was all set (I had had Mom look at it too). I handed the paper in and was done for the semester (I decided to skip my last class)! We then decided to start pregaming for that night lol. Eric, Tristam, Meaghan, and I played Wizard Staff starting at like 3:30. I got tired of beer really fast. We took a break for dinner (which was fish and chips with delicious prawns) and then got ready for the sports party (it was a GR sports-themed party at the Exchange). We headed over to Bludger's first b/c Roddy's band was playing, where we hung out and hippie-danced lol. There was a big group of us GR people, and Ari showed up too. We then all headed out downtown for the party. We were at the Exchange for a while and then bounced between there and Mad Cow. I hung out with Ari and Meaghan for most of the night. Ari and I ended up just hanging at the Exchange talking until like 2:30, when we just made the bus back (like, we had to run lol). I had an awesome night and it was the best night out downtown in a while.

The next day, I got up at 5:30 in the morning (yup, 2 hrs of sleep) to catch a cab to catch a ferry to Maggie Island. I stayed at Base Backpackers for a few days for the dive certification course. I was a little apprehensive about doing it by myself, but it was actually pretty fun. There wre no Australians in my class, which was kinda funny-- 3 English people, 1 German, 1 other American, and 2 Scotts. Oh, and the instructor was Dutch lol. It ended up being a nice group of people. I ended up just reading and stuff by myself when we had free time, which was fine. I got a bunch of work done and I don't mind reading while listening to the sound of the surf, since the place was right on the beach. My "room" was really like a tent with a cot, but I didn't have a roommate the whole time, which was nice. The first couple of days, we spent the morning watching DVDs, going through our book things, and doing theory stuff and then did stuff in the pool in the afternoons. The last couple of days we did two dives in the morning and then had the afternoons off. My plan was to lay in the sun all afternoon, but the one day it was cloudy and sprinkly, so I walked down the beach to the grocery store instead. The next day I layed in the sun before heading back to JCU. I got back in time for dinner and everyone commented on my nice sunburn :) That night, I hung with Tristam and Jamilla for a bit (all my girls are gone until Thursday) and then went back to my room and watched 27 Dresses (I love that movie).

yeah, this is where I ate my breakfast                                               me in my tent-thing

Today has really just been a hang out day. I meant to start studying, but didn't quite get around to it. I just mucked around on the computer for a bit, ate some lunch, went to Stockies, and then played pool with Jamilla, Tristam, and Alex for a while until dinner (taco night!). After that, I just hung out really. I hung with Tristam and Jamilla for a bit, then just hung in my room for a while. I talked to Ari on the phone for a while, distracting him from studying lol. I'm starting to stress about exams now, since all the Aussies are majorly stressing about them. Oh well, tomorrow my girls get back which will be nice, and tomorrow I start studying for real. Really, I will.
